I asked about how you guys felt about the apple remaining in Snow White's revamped tale... I guess it kinda depends? I mean, how close do you want to tell it to snow whites story? I'd give a hesitant yes for now since even in Frozen (which was EXTREMELY loosely based on the Ice Princess/Queen fairytale) they kept the important part about the sibling being accidentally struck by the other sibling power bit.
my response:I get what u are saying and I do want the apple in there but I gotta figure out the question of why doesn't the queen just kill her flat out with poison on the apple instead of a sleeping curse? What does she gain from letting her live? I dunno it's not really that Michelle wouldn't bite it like Snow White did ... she's young enough to be foolish in trusting some people I mean we all make mistakes... at my age I know better but when you are a teen you can be gullible and that's what I have to remember.I always felt that no one ever took the Snow White story as far as it could have been, and that even the original fairy tale due to the fact that it wasn't meant to be a longer story where you learned more about the characters... wasn't as dark and mysterious and intriguing as it could be. I want to find a way to infuse that into this story. I want a dark tale, but not one that's so scary you can't read it! I want romance but not campy! I want depth in the characters and strength not just in the male but female roles as well. We are not all bold and out spoken but we do all have something to say in a story and how that character emulates those words and embodies the bravery we want to see is an integral part of the story! Michelle was originally in "mirror of the soul... I ended up revamping it all and changing her and so much... some characters looks stayed the same like Gideon except for of course his ears and the wings I hope to make work out. Michelle went from long haired and soft, soft spoken and shy and too afraid to step out on her own because she can't let go of what happened to her. She was so reliant on Gideon to bring her out... to make her learn to live again. She really didn't resonate as me... not really... I am outspoken, brave, I don't back down and I try not to dwell on the sad things; if I did I would have fallen down and died a long time ago. My life... has been hard from the very start and I don't want to go into the patterns of abuse I survived; I will just say it I survived... I am here! Anyways... the new Michelle new hair cut and color because I just love my dark hair being darker and I loved that hair cut on her which was actually inspired by one of my friends who was drawing a pic of her with the shorter hair. At that point Michelle had a braid... now her hair is cut off and I love it! She's got a bow and arrow and sassy attitude. She's not a shrinking violet anymore. So all of that comes down to a big question of how the apple fits in and why not kill her straight out... why cast the spell?
So what are your thoughts? Why would the queen leave Michelle alive?
FYI here is the image from
that inspired my shorter hair!
